George A. Colon a Puerto Rican artist living in Chicago. Although I have lived and worked for the City of Chicago all my life I've always enjoyed my island and carry the pride of being Puerto Rican and I'll try to present to you in a visual manner our custom’s and beliefs through my paintings and my Jewelry creations.

I would like to introduce you to Magic Realism as it was introduced to me by Dr. Arias at DePaul University. Dr. Arias has since past away, but will always be remember by me for his introduction to Magic Realism through literature such as "One Hundred years of solitude".

Magic Realism combines reality and the magical into a world that a child would live in, a dream world. It comes from many sources. It's a combination of the magical, the real, the ghostly, the ordinary, and the extraordinary. It can be found in all cultures and has a big impact in the Latin America community.
